Drama for Hair Loss

For most people, the hair is the most adorable part of the body. Aside from the skin, this is the main indicator of health and vitality for most people. Obviously, women are the most affected when it comes to the hair. How many times would they travel to the saloon every year to have their hair fixed and treated? How many hair products are they willing to try just to make sure their hair would get the proper nourishment and treatment? Who are most affected when they are told that there are split ends, frizz and other flaws in their hair? Of course the women are! Aside from the normal split ends and frizz and many other forms of damages, hair loss is the most dreaded occurrence for most women. Well, what person in the right state of mind would want to see him or her self with almost visible scalp?

Nevertheless, many of the doctors are still failing to accept that hair loss is an important medical problem and they ignore the real distress that is suffered by a significant portion of those affected. That is not the way things should be and so everyone must be aware of what the negative effects of the condition are especially when it comes to the person’s emotions. Here are a few of those:

Hair Loss Treatment Will Let You Win It

Finding how to halt the hair loss trend is a battle that many are trying hard to win over. Well, if you are one of them, you are not alone in it. People look at hair loss and baldness as a curse that unfortunately threatens every single person whether genetically predestined or not. If your hair loss treatment is not working, then you can always choose another weapon.

It could be that you are feeling frustrated after trying several hair loss products that did not work but then remember that not all solutions could work for everyone—what works for one may not work for another and that is just how the fight is.

If the product or method that you have tried failed even after piously following all of the directions, do not feel hopeless, just keep on looking for other products. It could be that the hair you once had may be ready to go but if you are not ready to see yourself walking around bald or hiding under caps and wigs, you would want to keep fighting until all things go your way.

Is a Hair Transplant Procedure Advisable for Women?

There is no denying the fact that hair transplant procedures are the only immediate and semi-permanent solution for hair loss to date. Hair restoration involves the extraction of non-balding hair follicles that are replanted on the areas where the baldness is most striking.

Traditionally, surgical solutions to baldness were introduced as a hair loss treatment for men alone, particularly when the condition no longer responds to medical intervention. However, with modern technology, people’s evolving creativity, and women’s increasing demand for it, prompted hair loss experts to offer hair restoration to women.

Hair restoration has become a mainstream corrective treatment option for women with alopecia. Because most women with alopecia only experience diffuse hair thinning, hair restoration was not really an option for them. Aside from that, women only mostly experience temporary forms of alopecia; therefore, treatment may not be necessary at all.

Take for example the case of a new mother who underwent traumatic child delivery. She can experience a temporary form of hair loss called telogen effluvium. This is also possible when a woman experienced severe stress.

How Hair Loss Makes You Look Old

Few are the people who want to experience age for it is a period when a person can have the money and time but doesn’t get to enjoy them. But reality bites. We all have to experience age eventually. The sadder part is that there are certain factors that can accelerate this process. One disturbing event is hair loss.

Nearly half of the world’s adult population suffers from a condition called androgenetic alopecia. This type of hair loss can be a degenerative condition, but when a person is predisposed to it, he or she can suffer baldness at an early stage in life.

Hair loss can rob away one’s beauty and youth that it can be the source of poor confidence or self-esteem that leads to social anxiety.

People with alopecia admit how hair loss taunts their self-esteem. They feel less secure about themselves and think that hair loss has diminished their attractiveness to the opposite sex. They become socially withdrawn while getting the constant feeling that people judge them because of their baldness. Of all the stress that could be borne by baldness, those who experience it can truly appear old but if and only if, they allow it to pull them down or hold them back from enjoying life’s pleasures.

MPB: Men’s Fear of a Hair Apocalypse

While some men are born to be hair models, other lads are destined to lose chunks of their mane by the time they turn 50. It is very common to see a chrome dome anywhere. Yet many men fear still fear a hair apocalypse. Why not? After all, hair has a social importance even to men.

If there is a nonfatal condition that men see as a plague, it is baldness. Some men are sexy bald but many are those who can’t pull off a shaved head. What causes hair loss and why is it a bane of men’s existence?

Men as young as 20 years old can already begin to lose their hairline. In fact, 2 out of 5 men in their mid-20s have a receding hairline, which is one of the early signs of male pattern baldness.

Male pattern baldness is another term for androgenetic alopecia in men. MPB tends to run in families and worsens with advancing age. It is also reported to be androgen-dependent. With a genetic tendency, certain scalp hair follicles become sensitive to dihydrotestosterone (DHT), the chemical cousin of testosterone through the enzyme 5-alpha reductase. DHT binds with the androgen receptors in the hair follicles, changing the hair protein synthesis. Consequently, the hair follicles miniaturize, leading eventually to hair loss.

A Vital Aspect for a Successful Hair Transplant Surgery

Each person is endowed with unique hair.  That being the case, the hair’s characteristic (e.g., color, thickness, smoothness, suppleness and porosity) always vary from one person to another.

And like its role in identifying the identity of an individual, the hair’s characteristics or qualities play critical roles in the success or failure of a hair transplant surgery.

With that, when a hair transplant surgery is planned, the distinctive qualities of a patient’s hair should be assessed separately with the help of a qualified hair restoration specialist.

The following are the qualities which play critical aspects in creating a desirable hair transplant result:

Number of Hair Grafts and the Degree of Hair Loss

The number of hair grafts needed to insure a good hair transplant result mostly depends on the severity of the balding condition.  The larger the number of the hair grafts, the fuller and thicker the result will appear.

Hair Characteristics

The hair diameter and color as well as the hair shape (e.g., curly, frizzy, straight and wavy) all influence the appearance of a transplanted hair.
